A state-of-the-art learning laboratory, which has both mid- and high-level technology simulation equipment, allows for practice before actual clinical experiences.

Students have supervised clinical experiences throughout Lake and Porter County as well as in the Chicago area during their program of study.

MSN students learn assessment skills through the use of standardized patient's in the School of Medicine.

The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) projects a shortage of one million registered nurses by 2020. This escalating shortage signals a promising career in nursing.

Upon completion of the nursing program and passing the national registered nurse licensure exam, graduates will have opportunities to practice in a variety of settings or pursue an advanced degree.

What can I do with an MSN FNP in Nursing?

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the mean full-time base salary of a Nurse Practitioner was $128,490.

• Nurse Practitioners hold prescriptive privileges, including controlled substances in all 50 states and D.C. (AANP, 2016).
• Nurse practitioners when compared to primary care physicians have comparable and in some cases, better patient outcomes in ambulatory care settings (Mundinger et al., 2000).
• Patients of nursing practitioners report high levels of patient satisfaction and high quality care (Horrocks, Anderson & Salisbury, 2002).

The BSN program and MSN program prepare completers to sit for licensure exams in all states and US territories with the following exceptions:

• It does not prepare completers for licensure in the state of Washington. No determination has been made for American Samoa.
• The MSN program, FNP track prepares completers for licensure in all states and US territories with the following exceptions:
